We would like to introduce you to the special people who will be standing at our side on our wedding day.
Dayoliz Drews: Matron of Honor
Dayoliz & I met 19 years ago as participants in the YMCA Youth & Government program. Although separated by several states we never miss a beat and can always pick up right where we left off. Dayoliz’s heart of gold, purposeful pastimes and savviness in identifying the best coffee/pastry shops anywhere in the world, inspire me! Our countless “good times” adventures continue to stand the test of time and I am honored to have my best friend stand by my side.
In twenty four hours; Candace and I danced and sang (well she sang all of the words) along with Beyonce in Queens, joined the live studio audience at the Wendy Williams show, conquered the streets of New York in a food coma after enjoying Junior’s world famous cheesecake and wrapped up the day at the Broadway play, Eclipsed. Our adventures are nonstop and filled with magical moments. I am grateful for Candace’s daily dose of “voice of reason and perspective.
One word that sums up my friendship with Ashley is inseparable. After years of attending the same summer camp in Blue Ridge, NC our paths crossed again after college when we ran into each other at an Atlanta bar. Shortly thereafter, Ashley moved to Miami and our friendship evolved into work colleagues as we traded secrets to giving wings to people and ideas. We just couldn’t seem to get enough of each other and once Ashley moved back to Atlanta, we continued to build our friendship and life just would not be complete without her in it!
If it’s Tuesday, Inga and I will be where everybody knows our name drinking 32 oz. of happiness and catching up on life with chips & salsa nearby. Inga is the reason why Tuesdays are my favorite day of the week. Her contagious energy, fun loving attitude and never-ending “flash of happiness” are just a few of the many reasons why I enjoy every minute of our time together. I am thankful that this independent and considerate woman landed in my life!
Bri is fun, has a passion for knowledge and is always one minute away from her next big idea. She gets me revved up about life and inspires me to take a risk and pursue my passions. Bri and I can get lost in hours of heartfelt conversations, intentional brainstorming sessions and reliving all of the wonderful escapades that have filled our 11 year friendship.
It’s best to be present in the room and feel the energy to understand my friendship with Lisa. From day one, I knew that I was divinely connected to Lisa. I am truly blessed to know Lisa and regardless of the 400 miles that separates us as long as we are lacing up our sneakers to hit the pavement or pouring a glass of wine we are near and never far. She is amazing inside and out and I am lucky to have her as my Nashvegas sister-friend.
Nyisha and I have a bond that will forever be cherished, especially when we think of our countless American Idol Wii game competitions or the belly-over laughter shared over the years. Nyisha is extremely positive and brightens each and every room that she enters with a bright smile and supportive attitude. I am so glad that our shared need for a part time gig connected us 10 years ago and I can’t wait for what lies ahead in the next 10 years and beyond!
Trinity Townsend: Best Man
First and oldest friend. The original protector and definitely my keeper, as he is my big brother. The guy who took on 3 thugged out bullies by his lonesome to protect me on the playground.
The greatest friend I ever borrowed from a friend (and never gave back), reppin the state of Michigan west side, friendship running 19 years strong and badass backcourt buddy.
